Lodge History

Lodge Craigellachie was originally  Consecrated in 1811  as Lodge Cairngorm No 317. This name was Changed To  Lodge Craigellachie Sometime between May and December 1811.

The Lodge Number was Changed to No. 234 in 1816, then to No. 245 in 1822 and finally to its Present Day Number of 241 in 1826.

The Lodge was dissolved in 1843 Although some meetings did take place up until 1855 to discuss the sale of the Furnishings.

The Lodge was re-opened sometime in 1883 and has been in business to the present day.

Since 30th November 1883 approx 942 new members have joined or Affiliated to the Lodge.

In April 1911 Plans were drawn up for the erection of a new purpose built lodge by J Arthur Smith (Architects) Inverness  but as the Lodge minute book from this time is missing/lost there are no further details available.

Over the years some of the older Lodge records seem to have been lost or mislaid, which is why some of these  accounts are either incomplete or a bit vague. Hopefully with more research some of these gaps can be filled.
